CHIROPRACTIC TREATMENTS
DIVERSIFIED: A fancy way of saying hands-on, or manual adjustments. Sometimes you may hear some clicks or pops with this type of adjustment, and it’s perfectly normal. It’s just gasses being released from the joint.
ACTIVATOR: Most people call this the clicker. It’s a small, hand-held instrument that delivers a gentle impulse into the joint, to help restore proper function to the area.
DROP TABLE: A piece of the table you lay on pops up half an inch, and contact is applied to the area/joint we’re wanting to correct; this happens as the table gently drops back into place.
SOFT TISSUE / MUSCLE RELEASE: Manual work of the muscles with pressure, movement, and stretching.
AUTO ACCIDENT INJURIES
Dr. Zacharias understands the stress and pain patients are in following personal injury accidents. She will analyze, diagnose, and create an individualized treatment plan for whiplash and soft tissue injuries, and will thoroughly explain your treatment and update your insurance agency on your behalf.
WORK-RELATED INJURIES
Most work injuries are caused by overuse and repetitive stress injuries. Over time, small tasks done with poor posture can lead to acute and chronic pain, which can result in reduced worker productivity, lost time from work, disability, and an inability to perform job tasks.
SHOCKWAVE THERAPY
Shockwave therapy utilizes radial pressure waves (acoustic waves) transmitted into the area, to stimulate the body’s natural healing abilities. This was developed over 20 years ago, initially designed as a method for breaking up kidney stones. The positive side effects that were discovered is the improvement of many otherwise difficult to treat conditions, such as:
- Muscle tension/trigger points
- Plantar fasciitis
- Achilles tendonitis
- Rotator cuff injuries
- Frozen shoulder
- Tennis/golfer’s elbow (lateral/medial epicondylitis)
- Runners/jumpers knee (patellar tendon injuries)
Most conditions can be treated within approximately 3–5 visits, based on severity and length of injury.
ABOUT
Dr. Lorelei Zacharias
Lorelei was born and raised in Abbotsford. She has always had a passion for healthcare. This led her first into the dental field, where she began as an assistant, then moved on as a dental hygienist for the past 11 years. She has a keen interest in TMJ care, as it brings both dental and chiropractic together. Lorelei completed her schooling in 2016 at Life Chiropractic College West in San Francisco; she has since returned home, and is excited to serve the community of Maple Ridge.
Outside the office she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Travel is a big part of her life, which has taken her on some great adventures—living in Bermuda for four years being the one she’s most proud of. Learning to scuba dive while she was there has dictated some of her more recent trips.
